What would you write in me? 

Set of 3 Alphabet excersize books.

Hands up who is a stationery junkie? *shoots hand up* Do you also keep note books for those just in case moments, but really you like them pristine, pretty and new looking? ;) maybe these cute books can tempt some future scribbles and notes.

The Stowaways dollies ~New blog post~

I honestly can't remember such glorious sunshine, then this week in the bay. Bees and butterflies are taking flight, and it's wonderful to be able to have the shop door open. 
Venturing out today to Tynemouth, to the Antiques & Collector's fair at the Park Hotel - oh, deary, two new stowaways to add to the collection - how could I not take the sailor and his pal home? Snapped up the pair for £5.
The girl doesn't have a theme, I was thinking Bo-peep? what do you think? I love the rose detail on her outfit. 
They are in fantastic condition, like they were created yesterday. In contrast to the first wooden dolly (in photo below) I have had for years, she is like Cinderella before the transformation, and badly in need of some TLC.
I think the dolls are souvenirs, possibly German?

Possibly the prettiest lips a sailor has ever had.

My first wooden doll in the pink dress - one day she will be transformed back to a beauty, minus the bald head and floppy body.

Have you found any vintage items to add to your collection recently? Would love hear about them.

This week has been full of busy adding new items to the shop - adore the floral decorative hearts and sailing boat wall art.

and these cute peg people - adore Snow White, and also the Little Red Riding Hood collection.

Also new jewellery to - pull up a seat, great for a dinner party/night out.

The gang is waiting on some jam rolly polly we discovered in Morrisons - my favourite dessert at school, yet very elusive it seems compared to other tasty treats - here goes with the taste testing.

Take Two ~New blog post~

I started to put up Christmas decorations today in the shop, those things are lethal, especially if you behind the shop door lol *squished* Do you also find that you totally forgot about half the decorations you have collected? It's so hard to resist new designs to, I know i'm looking forward to adding Gingerella Gingerbread gal to the pink Christmas tree we use on top of the jewellery cabinets, with added other goodies.
Thanks to Kelly via twitter for a lol moment. After posting the first pic (right), a hint of our Christmas window, and the process of making it. The image right, and from Kelly: It looks like Jesus wrapped up like a mummy on stilts! lol. I said I might have to borrow that idea ;), anyone else have any ideas?. The top image is another creation, probably easier to guess?? Give you a hint (image right) - could easily join Santa in the sky.

TTFN still have bits and pieces to finish, I was hoping to do the window today, double pinkies crossed for Wednesday. And snow possibly on the way to? wrap up warm x

Answers on a postcard....

With new goodies arrving last week, and more on the way, we are undated with these green polystyrene chips. Bubble wrap is fun for popping, what on earth would be another use for these, any ideas?

Our first post, just wanted to say thank you for popping on to our blog.

I'll be adding more images and info, an extension of our news page, and also images/collection that inspire us in our love of design,vintage,retro and contemporary goodies.

Over the last week or so, we have been extending the shop, making way for a bigger show room to fill with furniture goodies etc. Bit, by bit we are getting their, and I'm enjoying looking for old images of the area etc to jazz up above the fire place.

Myself, and my Mam have been taking some photos of the transformation.

 Goodbye red wall, hello 60's yellow tile effect boarding.

Now that's yellow! Remember the boarding from when the shop was a bakery?.

When my Dad removed some wood from the wall frame, we discovered this old wall paper. We think it's Victorian, went through a few ideas what the pattern was, with the colour tones it reminded me of holly, but with the leaves being to big, finally thought grapes and vine leaves. 

Have you found any historical discoveries whilst renovating/decorating?

This is one of my favourite features of the shop, adore Art Nouveau, a lovely surprise to find these original hand plates on some of the doors, sadly painted over with oodles of paint over the years, so we had know choice but to paint over to.

Set to keep us warm, and you this winter. I'm tempted to toast some marsh mallows ;) who's wants to join me? Just added the fire surround today, then a lick of paint. Can't wait to hang stockings from the fire place this Christmas.

 Nearly finished, come in and have a look around.
